The Home Page Program
In partnership with Truist, Dell and Hotwire, The Home Page Program enables students and families to learn, work, and play from home by providing free laptops, Internet access, and ongoing technical support. By the end of 2020, we will have provided more than 2100 families (many with K-6 school-aged children) with laptops or touch screen devices along with free internet in Philadelphia, Charlotte, and Miami.
Empowering Communities Foundation was established during the Covid-19 pandemic in June of 2020 when it became clear that swift action was needed to help school-aged children who did not have the tools required for at-home learning. Along with devices and internet, the Connection Kits we provide also include headphones, spiral notebooks, pencils and other school essentials in backpacks, with individually-labeled luggage tags for each of the students.
Ongoing technical support is included through the program's website, thehomepageprogram.com. This website hosts Support, How To and educational videos and assistance for students and caregivers to help with the upcoming year. Each school can also post links to their most important apps and tools for students to access such as Google Classrooms.
An exclusive support line has also been established to provide one-on-one assistance to students and caregivers for ensuring they have continual Internet connection throughout the school year.
